Great question Renee! Unfortunately, there's no uniform answer as it will depend on the size of the beads you use, the snowflake form you use, and if you use one size of bead or multiple as shown in photographs of the finished beaded snowflake ornament crafts. In other words, if you use larger 8mm beads you will needs less beads per snowflake, while if you use smaller 2mm or 4mm beads you will need more beads. If I was to give you a basic estimate for beaded snowflakes using the forms like those recommended in the supply section, you would need an average of 40 to 80 beads per hand-beaded project depending on the size of the beads. I hope that helps, happy snowflake crafting!

Hi Julie, I'm sorry that you had trouble closing the wire form to secure the beads on the snowflake ornament craft. The wire forms are hard to bend, but I recommend using round nose pliers, not needle nose pliers. I agree that it would be virtually impossible to close the loop with needle nose pliers! Even with round-nose pliers it can be really tough to close the loop, but it is possible--I promise. The forms are purposely hard to bend because it needs to be strong. Otherwise the beaded snowflake ornament would bend and break instead of staying strong to use year after year. I hope that helps, good luck and happy snowflake crafting!

Unfortunately the wire form linked in the directions does not bend enough to close and secure the beads. We tried several tools along with the needle nose pliers recommended. I couldn't do it, my teen daughter couldn't nor could my husband. We ended up glueing the last couple of beads on each branch and just hope they hold. I would not recommend this craft for that reason.

Hi Wendy,

You can purchase the wire snowflake ornament forms in some craft and hobby stores or use the Amazon affiliate links provided for convenience in the "Snowflake Craft Supply" list posted above the step-by-step beaded snowflake ornament tutorial. Happy Christmas crafting!
