Setting affirmations for achieving goals is the best way to accomplish your goals. Why is setting positive affirmations to accomplish goals the best way to reach them? Setting positive affirmations to accomplish goals will put you in charge of what you tell yourself, so you will no longer be creating unconsciously. Continuing to repeat goal affirmations can help you change the limiting beliefs, negative thought patterns, and negative self-talk that keep you from getting what you want and reaching your full potential.
Instead, the words you utter will help you consciously bring your goals and dreams to fruition. In other words, whether or not you can achieve your goals and live the life of your dreams has much to do with your capability to become conscious of what you are co-creating in your life. When we tell ourselves something enough times, we believe it is true. The problem is that most of the things we tell ourselves, and thus our ability to achieve our goals, are often done unconsciously.
These unconscious thoughts, and negative thought patterns, allow our self doubt and limiting beliefs to take the driver’s seat and control our lives. Unfortunately, these unconscious thought patterns will keep the subconscious mind in charge until we develop a positive mindset, or consciously put something in its place. Positive goal affirmations can do just that. Are you ready to change your life with the power of positive goal affirmations? Scroll down to get started! If you want to change your life, you must change your habits.

Want the good news?
How we think and what we tell ourselves is a habit we can change!
The best way to change the habit of limiting thinking is to start acting “as if” you have already achieved your goals. And the best way to do that is to make positive affirmations for achieving goals to develop the right mindset.
Our subconscious thought patterns will continue to let us down if we don’t start making better choices and do the work necessary to change our negative thinking. So, let’s set affirmations for achieving goals to accomplish goals and provide an abundance of opportunities to realize our dreams instead.

Goal Affirmations Can Transform Negative Unconscious Thought Patterns and Limiting Beliefs
Stating affirmations for accomplishing goals can make a big difference in the quality of your life, because they can help you change the negative thought patterns and limiting beliefs that unconsciously sabotage your efforts to achieve your biggest goals. If you don’t believe you can achieve your goals, it is not likely that you ever will.
When we think our goal is attainable, it becomes much easier to accomplish it. Believing our goal to be obtainable is one of the many reasons it is essential to set SMART goals, and create a step by step action plan to achieve them before working with positive goal-setting affirmations.
All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think we become.
~Buddha
You must believe in a specific affirmation or goal to achieve it. When you don’t think you can accomplish a goal, you probably won’t. As Henry Ford said, “Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right.” Fortunately, making goal affirmations is one small step you can take to help transform your beliefs and build inner strength, which is why they work so well!
How does creating positive affirmations for achieving goals work?
Creating positive affirmations for goals can help one establish a positive feedback loop to enhance personal growth and goal achievement. When an individual regularly repeats affirmations, they instill a sense of belief and confidence in their abilities and objectives.
This practice can positively influence the subconscious mind, and gradually shift thought patterns from those of doubt and limitation to confidence and possibility. As these positive beliefs and affirmations become ingrained in one’s thought process, they start to influence behavior and decision-making, leading to actions that align more closely with goals that lead to the individuals ideal life.
This alignment results in small successes and positive experiences, which further reinforce the belief in the affirmations. Each success, no matter how small, feeds back into the cycle, strengthening the individual’s confidence and commitment to their goals, even when faced with challenges and difficult situations.
This loop of affirmation, action, and positive reinforcement creates powerful momentum, and makes the achievement of personal and professional goals more attainable and sustainable over time. By continuously fostering positive thoughts and behaviors, affirmations act as catalysts for personal development and lead to self-improvement and the realization of one’s ultimate aspirations.

How do you write affirmations for goals?
The easiest way to turn goals into affirmations is to take each of your heartfelt goals and rewrite them “as if” they are valid in the present tense.
The key is to make your postive goal affirmation statement; 1) something you feel good about telling yourself and 2) something you believe you can achieve.
Setting Affirmations for Goals:
- First, add “I am” to the beginning of the goal affirmation statement.
- Next, add an emotional feeling action word to energize goal-achieving affirmations.
- Last, change affirmations for goals to the present tense to act “as if” and help make your goal feel real–NOW.
Four Rules for Setting Goal Affirmations:
The most important points to remember about setting affirmations for achieving or accomplishing goals are:
- Affirmations for goals need to be something you believe you can achieve.
- Goal-achieving affirmations should be something you want to tell yourself or like to hear.
- A positive affirmation goal is written and said aloud in the present tense, “as if” it were real now.
- Goal affirmation statements need to be as specific as possible. Vague goal affirmations will lead to vague results. Be as specific as possible!

Positive Affirmations for Goals: A Few Examples
Following are a few old examples of goal affirmations I created long ago when I first wrote this post on February 20, 2015. I shared them to illustrate how I used this technique to transform my BIG overarching goals into a goal affirmation statement to achieve massive success.
But, please, make your goal affirmations as specific as possible. Mine are purposely big and vague to maintain a bit of privacy. Write as many positive affirmations or statements as you want for each goal. And commit to the daily action of repeting them regularly.
Remember, it is crucial to be as focused, clear, and detailed as possible. Vague goal affirmations will lead to ambiguous results. It’s also good to break down larger goals with several steps into separate goal affirmations. In other words, create a goal affirmation for each interim goal or subcategory to increase efficacy.
Goal 1: Get Organized and Release Clutter
One of my goals is to get organized and release clutter.
When I add “I am” to the beginning of this goal, it becomes: “I am getting organized and releasing clutter.”
Next, I added the feeling action word “happily” and changed the tense to sound right. For example, “I am happily getting organized and releasing clutter.”
Yes. This positive goal affirmation feels good, and most importantly–I believe it! What’s not to be happy about when you get rid of clutter and get organized?
Now I know I am going to achieve this goal. Believing that I can accomplish a goal is one of the many reasons that setting goal affirmations works so well.
Update 2016: I officially live a clutter-free lifestyle and find it easy to maintain because my whole family uses the power of rhythm!
Goal 2: Get Outside and Connect
Another goal I have is to get outside to connect every day.
When I add the word “gratefully” to this goal and change the tense, it becomes a lovely positive goal-setting affirmation.
It now reads, “I am gratefully getting outside and connecting.” I like it, but it’s not perfect, and I want to add a little more to energize it further.
When I get outside, I like to connect with nature, myself, anyone I’m with, and with spirit, the universe, or God, so I want to include that in my affirmation.
“I am gratefully getting outside and connecting with all that is.”
That’s much better. The phrase connecting with all that is includes everything that matters to me, and represents each of those important things I’d like to connect with. And I know I will feel grateful to go outside every day so that this affirmation will work for me.
Update 2015: I get outside every day, and I love it! Our family dog makes a fantastic accountability partner and gives me the solitude I crave when this INFJ needs to be alone. I have accomplished this goal and will continue to crush it for the rest of my life!
Want one more example?
Goal 3: Build and Grow My Business
My last primary goal is to “build and grow my business.”
Let’s change this final goal into a positive affirmation. “I am easily building and growing my business.“
Next, I want to add something extra to give it more power and make it real now. “I am easily building and growing my business by successfully meeting the short-term and long-term goals I set“
Update 2016: This is still one of my overarching lifetime goals, and I continue to set specific goals with goal affirmations that work like a charm to help me stay focused. My business affirmations help me take the steps I need each quarter and keep me on track to meet each goal I set.
Are you beginning to see how well setting goal affirmations to accomplish your goals works?
Here are a few more General examples of Positive Affirmations for different goals:
Work, business, or career: “I am confidently excelling in my career and achieving my professional goals with ease.”
Health: “I am full of energy and my body is healthy, strong, and capable.”
Personal Growth: “I am constantly evolving, growing, and improving myself in meaningful ways.”
Relationships: “I am attracting positive and supportive relationships into my life.”
