Yes, my daughter uses glass bottles. Tile would concern me a bit too, but these little bottles are shockingly durable. They have been dropped a few times. So far we have never had one broken. Go with plastic if it feels safer 🙂

Love it!My boys also like to help me “clean” the windows. For one thing they spend a lot of time outside playing with their spray bottles and then my oldest learned at school (he goes to a Montessori) to clean windows and is eager to show off. You can hardly look through our windows now that they’re helping but that’s another story. They use plain water but I’ll try your chemical-free recipes. I buy environmental friendly cleaning products but still don’t feel comfortable to let the kids handle them.
