Supplies Needed to Decorate Natural Brown Easter Eggs
- Natural brown eggs
- Stock pot or saucepan
- Kitchen timer
- Water-based non-toxic paint pens or smaller pastel colors set

How to Color Natural Brown Eggs for Easter Step by Directions
Step 1 – Hard boil eggs
This is our favorite way to hard boil eggs without cracking them!
How to Hard Boil Eggs — Best Method to Make Hard Boiled Eggs
- Place eggs in a pot on the stove with room temperature water
- Bring water and eggs to a boil
- Allow water and eggs boil for 1 minute
- Turn off the stovetop under the pot of boiling water, cover, and allow eggs to sit and continue to cook for 10 to 15 minutes in the hot water
- Rinse and soak eggs in cold water to cool
Step 2 – Allow hard boiled eggs to cool completely before painting
Give the natural brown hard-boiled eggs time to cool completely before using paint pens to decorate them.
Step 3 – Grab paint pens and get creative decorating Easter Eggs!
Tip: Place eggs in an egg carton to make it easy for toddlers and preschoolers to color them with paint pens. To get started, place an egg in a carton and start drawing on it. Don’t forget to allow it to dry before flipping it over to paint the other side.
